Enrollment Ceremony of Nitobe College, Fall 2024

The Enrollment Ceremony of Nitobe College was held at Sky HALL (Large Auditorium), Institution for the Advancement of Higher Education on Saturday, October 5. A total of 208 students, including 180 undergraduate students and 28 graduate students, were newly enrolled.

The curriculum of Nitobe College has been changed from this year, and the enrollment ceremony for the Undergraduate Curriculum has also been changed from May to October.

At the ceremony, Nitobe College Principal, President HOUKIN Kiyohiro and Vice-Principal, Chairman of ELM, Hokkaido University Alumni Association SUGIE Kazuo gave words of encouragement to the new students. After the introduction of Nitobe College-related professors, deans of undergraduate and graduate schools, fellows, and mentors, Mr. OHTOMO Toshihiko, a representative of the fellows, and Mr. ISHIKAWA Kenichi, a representative of the mentors, gave a message. From the new students, Mr. SATO Taku, a representative of the Undergraduate Curriculum, and Ms. MIOKA Riko, a representative of the Graduate Curriculum, expressed their expectations of studying in the program.

The ceremony ended successfully with a presentation by the students of the Ito Seminar (Nitobe Studies / Fellow Seminar), who won the Grand Prize at the 2023 Open Symposium.
