Final Presentations of Global Practical Course II, Summer 2024

Post Date: Aug 04, 2024

Students delivered their final presentations of our Graduate Curriculum Pre-program course, Global Practical Course II on Tuesday, July 30 and Thursday, August 1. Students were asked to develop project proposals in their teams on “How Can We Tackle Hokkaido’s Snow Challenges?” and “Creating a Carbon Budget Scheme for Hokkaido University”.

Students were tasked with applying the skills that they developed during the Pre-program courses and develop a 10-minute presentation which outlined their project proposal using either an ‘waterfall’ or ‘agile’ approach to project management.

Additionally, we were also grateful to welcome as guest speakers, Dr Sajjad Kamal Shuvro, a Nitobe College alumni and co-founder of Floatmeal (July 30), and Ayako Kurosawa, Assistant Section Manager of the Attraction Strategy Division at the Sapporo Convention Bureau (August 1), with both giving students insightful feedback into their proposed solutions and provided vital insights into their future development.

Student’s presentations from both classes can be viewed below.

Topic 1: How Can We Tackle Hokkaido’s Snow Challenges? (Tuesday Class)
