TANI Hirofumi

My research topic is bioanalytical chemistry including bio- and chemiluminescence in molecular assemblies functioning as a reaction field for highly sensitive assay, and microfluidics for biomedical analytical devices.

I have been involved at Nitobe College since the kickoff of Nitobe School in 2015. I believe that you will learn much from this program, in which students with different specialties and cultures come together and work independently on various issues, and that it will be a valuable experience for you. The class work may be by no means easy, but it is up to you to make the most of the program. Have fun and do your best!

Hidetaka ITO

Research Fields

My interest is how environment affects transposon activation in nature. Transposons exist in almost all eukaryotes and they are important elements on the genome. I focus on the relationship between environmental stress and transposon activation.

Katsufumi HASHIMOTO

Civil Engineering, Cement and Concrete Engineering, Non-destructive Evaluation Engineering

My research interests include material and structural evaluation of civil infrastructures. Current research works are focused on non-destructive testing for detecting damage in materials and structures based on development of innovative sensing techniques.

Research Fields

My research interests include Migration and Gender Policies in East Asia. My current research focuses on the gender aspect on migration including the issue of female domestic and care workers (global households), as well as the vulnerability and agency of these women.
