Study Abroad

Hokkaido University has concluded student exchange agreements with 183 universities in 43 countries/regions. The students of Hokkaido University can participate in student exchange programs established at each of these affiliated universities.

Students can also participate in special spring and/or summer programs for training in English provided by affiliated universities during vacation periods.

Additionally, the First Step Program (FSP) is a short-term offering that provides opportunities for students to take part in lectures and interact with students from affiliated universities, visit international organizations and companies overseas, and have discussions and interviews with the staff there. The FSP has been available under the name “Global Career Design”, as a part of general educational training (Freshman Seminar), since 2013.
