Students in the Honors program can find various opportunities for students to study abroad either short-term or long-term. The Special Short-term Programs are study trips during spring and summer vacations designed around a specialized theme. Students have lectures, take field trips, and meet and talk with students. For students hoping to study for one semester or one year, Hokkaido University has approximately 183 partner universities in 49 countries/regions. Students are designated as exchange students and are expected to take regular classes. During their time abroad, they also have many chances to participate in university activities, make friends from around the world and improve their communication skills.
