1.Developing English-language skills to enable students to function efficiently on the world stage

  • Major subject classes in English taken alongside international students (students from countries other than Japan)
  • Practical English classes to prepare for study and work overseas
  • Specialized English training in the major subjects of the students

5.Developing Teamwork and Leadership

  • Study away from classrooms, for example “Fieldwork Seminars” on the university’s training ship the Oshoro-maru, Experimental Farm, or at the Forest Research Station

7.Developing internationally minded attitudes in a multicultural setting

  • Taking ‘Arts & Science Courses in English’ (Kokusai koryu kamoku taught in English) and ‘Co-learning in Multicultural Classrooms’ (Tabunka koryu kamoku taught in Japanese) alongside international students
  • Participating in the ‘First-Step Program’, a study trip abroad designed to help students take their first steps towards independent study and work abroad
